CBD FAQ's

What is CBD?

CBD is an acronym for Cannabidiol (Can-a-bid-i-ol), a prominent naturally occurring class of molecules called cannabinoids found in the plant genus Cannabis Sativa L. CBD comprises up to 40% of the plant and is one of over 60 plus compounds found in cannabis. Of these compounds, CBD and THC are usually present in the highest concentrations, and are therefore the most recognized and studied. CBD is a non- psychoactive component of the plant that possesses a wide range of benefits and does not cause a high, unlike THC. Our bodies are made up of an endocannabinoid system and use cannabinoids to maintain healthy cells.  According to researchers, CBD may be the single most important cannabinoid ever discovered!

Is it true the US Government holds a patent on cannabidiol?

YES!! (Can you believe it?)   U.S. Patent 6,630,507      The following is from the United States Patent and Trademark Office website:    Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention.

Is CBD legal?

There is no need for a prescription or medical card to purchase CBD.  It is a natural constituent of the high CBD hemp strains of the plant that contain very, very low levels of THC.  Having only trace amounts of THC, our CBD oil is non-psychoactive and therefore legal in all 50 states.  In fact, the FDA considers hemp oil to be a nutritional supplement and our products are sold as such!

Will I pass a drug screen or test using CBD products?

The hemp oil in our product contains CBD which is a LEGAL cannabinoid from hemp. It contains minuscule amounts (parts per billion) of THC that COULD show up in a drug screen. Natural Wayz For Life cannot guarantee that you will or will not pass a drug screen due to the amount of variables.  Drug screens vary and some can be more sensitive than others. If you have to take a drug test, it is best to not use our products.

How is hemp different than the other Cannabis plants?

While both hemp and the recreational cousin plant come from the Cannabis sativa L plant, they serve different purposes. High CBD hemp is cultivated for its fiber and has an extremely high content of CBD and almost untraceable amounts of THC.  Hemp has been grown for thousands of years worldwide for many medicinal and industrial purposes; making necessary items like clothing, rope, paper, nutritional supplements and numerous other products.  It's recreational cousin contains very low traces of CBD and high amounts of THC, which carries the psychoactive part of the flowers and trichomes that people often associate with feeling “high”.  Again, CBD has an almost untraceable amount of THC and does not make you feel “high”.

Although the two plants bare a resemblance, the US government considers hemp distinct. The FDA considers hemp oil as a dietary supplement.  For many years, hemp based oils and textiles have been imported into the United States. Our hemp oil products are legal to consume both here in the states and many countries abroad.
